At 3:00pm, 29th, April, the Eighth and Ninth “Blackant SWJTU New Art” exhibition was opened in the Art Gallery of Eighth Teaching Buiding as scheduled. Guests attending this opening ceremony included: Ms. Gan Yun, the CEO of cultural promotion “1314” of Chengdu Blackant Space Decoration Design Engineering Co.,Ltd; Ms Zhang Chuanyin, the famous critic. Prof. Yang Wenquan, the Dean of School of Arts and Communication; Prof. Gan Lin, the Deputy Dean; Prof. Hong Yi, the Director of Department of Fine Arts; Prof. Shi Chaoyang, Associate Prof. Li Jingfu, Associate Prof. Mao Gang and other leaders and teachers attended this opening ceremony. Associate Prof. Liu Chunrao, the assistant to the Dean, held this opening ceremony. Hao Liaogang, the Director of Student Affairs of Southwest Jiaotong University also attended the opening ceremony.

“Blackant SWJTU New Art” Exhibition was a persistent arts exhibition project, which was co-sponsered by Chengdu Blackant Space Decoration Design Engineering Co., Ltd and School of Arts and Communication of SWJTU, and undertaken by Promotiom Agency of Chengdu Blackant Space Decoration Design Engineering Co., Ltd and Department of Fine Arts. And there are two parts of exhibition every year, namely creation exhibition and assignment exhibiton.

These exhibited works were mainly from the students’ creations and assignments of grade 2011 and 2014, involving painting, traditional Chinese painting, printmaking, sculpture, video, installation, integrated materials, and other types of artworks. Exhibition supported the basic training and the creation of pure artistic expression, encouraged exploration of diversity and creativity, rewarded the emerging talent, and developed learning atmosphere.

This exhibiton will last a month at Art Gallery of Southwest Jiaotong University. Welcome students and art lovers to visit this exhibiton site.
