巴蜀方言与文献研究中心是艺术与传播学院直属的人文社会科学研究基地。本中心现有研究人员10人，其中教授3人，副教授7人，90%成员具有博士学位。学术顾问、学术委员会聘请省内语言、文献方面权威专家担任。本研究中心作为中国语言、文献相关二级学科对外交流的学术窗口和平台，为中心学者和中文系教师同我国巴蜀方言与文献研究界建立良好互动关系，推进省内外的学术交流和合作创造机会。中心主要组织和推动巴蜀方言与文献研究，包括制订巴蜀方言与文献研究规划，进行巴蜀方言和四川境内少数民族语言田野调查，建设巴蜀方言与文献研究资料信息中心，编撰巴蜀方言与文献研究书刊，举办相关学术讨论会等多种形式的学术活动。

    The Center of Ba & Shu Dialects and Literature is the base for research in the disciplines of humanities and social science and directly supervised by the School of Arts and Communication. The faculty is composed of 10 full time members, 3 of them are professors, 7 associate professors, and 90% of the faculty are Ph. D. degree holders. Advisors and members of Academic Committee of the Center are the leading experts in language and philology in the Province. The center serves as the venue and platform for the academic interaction in the Second Grade Discipline of Ba & Shu Dialects and Literature with scholars and professors both in and outside the province, and presents them with opportunities for exchange and cooperation. The Center focuses on the research of Ba & Shu dialects and literature, and major activities include dafting plan and scheme for the research, field investigation of Ba & Shu dialects and languages spoken by minority ethnical groups in Sichuan province, editing and publishing books and periodicals on the research, and holding seminars, forums, and lectures on the subject.
